Dear Church Family,

As I am sure you are aware, the COVID19 outbreak has now been labelled as a pandemic by the World Health Organization. You’ve heard that many sporting, entertainment and other gatherings have been cancelled. Currently (13 March), there is only one presumptive case of COVID-19 in Simcoe County. We have many talented and dedicated people working in our health care system. While the risk in our area is currently very low, we want to be wise and do what we can to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Our government has discouraged large group gatherings in hopes of stopping the spread of this virus. Our desire is to honour the measures they are taking. With these things in mind, we have decided as Elders to cancel our Worship Gathering for Sunday, March 15th.

In lieu of these cancellations, some churches including Cornerstone Orillia, Connexus, and Emmanuel Orillia are broadcasting their services online. These services will be available for viewing tomorrow at the following links:

As we address this situation, 1 Peter 3:15 comes to mind:

“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

As God’s children, we have the assurance that God is in control and that He will be with us in every circumstance. The assurance of His presence now and the promise of eternity in His presence gives us incredible hope as we encounter uncertainty. Let us hold out the hope we have in Christ. We are held in his love, there is no need to be afraid.

I would encourage you to continue to reach out to one another by phone. If you are in need of prayer, please do not hesitate to call me. I will send out updates regarding how we will proceed with our upcoming worship gatherings.

Prayerfully,

Pastor Graham
